원더라움은 서울 쇼룸을 비롯하여 갤러리아 백화점 명품관, 롯데백화점에서 매장을 운영하고 있는 현대적인 라이프스타일 브랜드로, 가구, 조명, 액세서리 등 수준 높은 생활제품을 소개하고 있습니다. Gubi, Muuto, Lange Production, de Dede, SOVET ITALIA, WENDELBO, FERM LIVING 등 80개가 넘는 글로벌 브랜드 파트너를 보유하고 있는 원더라움은 디자인과 품질이 뛰어난 브랜드를 파트너로 선정하여 원더라움만의 특별한 콜렉션을 선보입니다. 놀라움과 경이로움을 뜻하는 ‘Wonder’와 공간을 의미하는 독일어 ‘Raum’의 합성어인 원더라움(Wonderaum)의 브랜드 네임은 리빙 제품을 통해 고객의 공간을 더욱 아름답게 만들고 나아가 고객의 삶에 영감을 주는 놀라운 경험을 선사한다는 브랜드 미션을 담고 있습니다.
THE OBJECTIVE
목적
The wonderaum brand identity uses a monochrome palette to emphasize the furniture design on various platforms. These black and white colors are used as brand elements to bring out the shapes and colors of products on multiple platforms. wonderaum's tone and manner is focused on removing unnecessary elements and making its partner's branded products stand out for its role as a trusted business partner.
원더라움의 브랜딩 프로젝트에서는 가구를 통해 고객의 공간에 영감을 선사한다는 브랜드 미션과 역사와 명성을 지닌 글로벌 가구 회사의 비즈니스 파트너로서 전문성과 신뢰감을 전달할 수 있는 브랜드 아이덴티티 개발이 필요했습니다. 무엇보다 다양한 브랜드 제품을 유통하는 것이 원더라움의 핵심 비즈니스모델인 만큼 원더라움 자체의 브랜드보다 파트너 브랜드들의 제품이 더욱 돋보이는 절제된 디자인이 필요했습니다. 우리는 절제된 컬러와 그래픽 요소들 가운데서 원더라움의 브랜드 정체성을 더욱 명확하게 드러낼 수 있는 디자인을 고민했고 파트너 브랜드뿐 아니라 가구를 구매하는 고객들에게도 신뢰와 감동을 전할 수 있는 브랜드 자산을 개발하고자 했습니다.
THE SOLUTION
해결방안
The wonderaum wordmark is created by customizing the Helvetica typeface by softening the sharp tips and adjusting each thickness and space of typography to harmonize characters and margins. And the wordmark's graphic features are derived from the furniture's smooth curves and the simple, comfortable, and contemporary brand concept.
원더라움이 추구하는 절제된 아름다움은 지난 수 세기 동안 가구 디자인에 큰 영향을 주었던 바우하우스의 기능성과 심미성에서 영감을 받았습니다. 원더라움의 워드마크는 기능적인 완성도가 높고 공간감이 우수한 헬베티카 서체를 기반으로 개발되었습니다. 헬베티카 서체가 지닌 날카로운 모서리를 부드럽게 커스터마이징하고 글자 각각의 두께와 공간감을 조정하여 글자와 여백이 조화롭게 어울리는 완성도 높은 워드마크입니다. 특히 소문자 a, d, o의 내부 공간을 넓히고, r의 곡선을 강조하여 원더라움이 추구하는 편안하고 아름다운 공간감을 전달했습니다. 원더라움의 로고타입은 가구가 지닌 부드러운 곡선과 아치 형태를 연상케 하며, 단순하지만 아름다운 가구로 고객에게 영감을 선사한다는 브랜드 컨셉을 반영하고 있습니다.
