  • THE CLIENT

    클라이언트

    Cafe Cconnal is a second brand of Nangman Gongjakso and a food and beverage space opened in Sangmujungang-ro, Seo-gu, Gwangju. Unlike the Nangman Gongjakso, which is operated as a space selling various food and beverages such as cafés, restaurants, and pubs, this place is specialized as a cafe and bakery. The client, who decided to run two food and beverage brands, wanted to listen to various ideas ranging from spatial strategy, storytelling, and brand identity direction.

    카페 꼰날은 낭만공작소의 세컨드 브랜드로 광주시 서구 상무중앙로에 문을 연 식음 공간입니다. 낭만공작소가 카페, 레스토랑, 펍 등 다양한 식음료를 판매하는 공간으로 운영되는 것과 달리, 이곳은 카페와 베이커리에 특화되었습니다. 두 식음 브랜드를 운영하게 된 클라이언트는 공간 전략과 스토리텔링 그리고 브랜드 아이덴티티의 방향성에 이르기 까지 다양한 아이디어를 제안 받기를 원했습니다.  

  • THE OBJECTIVE

    목적

    The overall interior atmosphere of Café Cconnal was composed of a rough and vintage feeling and the moderate feeling coming from tables and furniture made of birch plywood. YNL Design focused on adding vitality to the brand by developing smooth visual elements across the space. By creating a friendly and warm brand identity instead of interior finishing materials, giving various changes so that the space would not get boring.

    카페 꼰날의 내부의 전반적인 분위기는 거칠고 빈티지한 느낌과 자작나무 합판으로 만들어진 테이블과 집기류의 절제된 느낌이 공존하고 있습니다. YNL Design은 공간 곳곳에 부드러운 느낌의 비주얼 요소를 개발하여 브랜드의 생동감을 더하는 것에 주력했습니다. 인테리어 마감재와 상반되는 친근하고 따뜻한 브랜드 아이덴티티 개발을 통해 다양한 변화를 주어 공간이 지루하게 느껴지지 않도록 했습니다.

  • THE SOLUTION

    해결방안

    The logo of Café Cconnal symbolizes an elephant carried by birds to an unknown world. The concept, ‘DAYDREAMING,’ means a dream dreamed in the middle of the day, and it expresses the brand’s value: joy from the imagination turning into reality. Developing a pattern that makes the best of brush strokes has been consistently expressed on awning signs, menu, cup holders, posters, etc. to bring out the cafe's unique vibe.

    카페 꼰날의 로고는 새를 타고 올라가는 미지의 세계로 향하는 코끼리를 형상화하고 있습니다. ‘DAYDREAMING’이라는 컨셉으로 한낮에 꾸는 꿈이라는 뜻을 의미하며 상상이 현실로 되는 기쁨이라는 브랜드의 가치를 표현했습니다. 붓터치를 살린 패턴 디자인을 개발하여 어닝 사인, 메뉴지, 컵 홀더, 포스터 등에 일관되게 표현하여 카페의 특유의 감성을 살렸습니다.
