K-DESIGN AWARD는 세계적인 디자이너들을 대상으로 하는 어워드이며, 주최와 후원은 (주)디자인소리가 맡고 있습니다. K-DESIGN AWARD는 아시아를 대표하는 3대 디자인상 중 하나로 손꼽히며, 전 세계 7개국에서 30여 명의 저명한 심사위원들이 참여하여 엄정하고 공정한 심사를 보장합니다.매년 이 어워드는 치열한 경쟁을 거쳐 선정되며, 이를 통해 디자이너들의 창의성, 혁신성, 기술력, 미적 감각 등 다양한 측면에서 우수한 성과를 인정하고 격려합니다. 이 어워드는 단순히 디자인뿐만 아니라 제품의 명확한 아이덴티티와 잠재력에 대한 진정한 가치를 부여하는 역할을 하고 있습니다.

THE OBJECTIVE
목적
K-DESIGN AWARD의 톤앤매너를 유지하며 전달하고자 하는 독보적인 정체성과 가치를 효과적으로 부각할 수 있는지에 대한 고민이 필요했습니다. K-DESIGN AWARD YEAR BOOK에서 가장 중점적으로 고려했던 부분은 브랜드를 일관성 있게 구축하여 강력한 아이덴티티를 확립하는 방식에 대해 집중했습니다. 지루하지 않고, 리듬감이 느껴지는 레이아웃의 변화를 통하여 단순히 반복되는 것이 아닌 다채롭고 풍성함이 느껴지는 디자인 연감이 될 수 있도록 구성했습니다. 어느 하나의 작품만이 돋보이게 되는 부분을 피하고 통일성 있는 구성과 작품의 이미지가 온전하게 보일 수 있도록 이미지를 와이드하게 적극 활용하여 작품집의 목적을 명확히 하려 했습니다. 또한, 작품 설명과 배치가 조화롭게 어우러져 복잡해지지 않고 간결하게 표현되도록 제안하였습니다.

THE SOLUTION
해결방안
K-DESIGN AWARD가 지닌 명확한 정체성에서 출발해 'KUDOS FOR YOUR DESIGN' 이라는 슬로건의 의미를 더욱 확장시켜 일관된 디자인 시스템을 구축하려 했습니다. 매년 다양하고 창의적인 디자인들이 작품집 안에 모여 기록이 축적되는 모습에서 영감을 받아 ‘Creative Archive’ 라는 컨셉을 기반으로 심플한 라인 그래픽 요소를 함께 활용했습니다. 과감한 여백 활용과 과하지 않으면서도 플렉서블하게 확장되는 라인으로 표현하여 수상의 기쁨이 퍼져나가는 모습을 간접적으로 시각화했으며 작품 이미지 및 작품 설명에 대한 주목성과 가독성이 높아야 된다는 점을 고려해 자연스러운 시선의 흐름으로 안정감을 주어 정보 접근의 편의성을 높일 수 있는 레이아웃 시스템을 개발했습니다.
