SANDBOX FRIENDS is a brand established to get closer to the public by developing characters based on the creators of the Sandbox Network, a leader in the MCN business, which has recently drawn great attention. DDotty & Sleepground are the representative characters of Sandbox Friends. The brand always tells a fun and exciting story with the stylish leader Dotty and the cute tomboy Sleepground.
샌드박스 프렌즈는 최근 각광받고 있는 MCN사업의 선두주자인 샌드박스 네트워크의 소속 크리에이터들을 캐릭터와하여 대중들에게 좀 더 가깝게 다가가고자 결성된 브랜드입니다. 도티&잠뜰은 샌드박스프렌즈의 대표 캐릭터입니다. 브랜드는 멋쟁이 리더 도티와 귀여운 말괄량이 잠뜰과 함께 언제나 즐겁고 신나는 이야기를 담고 있습니다.
THE OBJECTIVE
목적
YNL Design has developed six box packages and six coloring guidebooks containing 3D models of the SANDBOX FRIENDS characters: DDotty, Jamttle, Chochou, Coa, Chilgakbyeol, and Suhyeon. The 3D character models are made of eco-friendly materials and printed with a 3D printer. The box package includes a user guide, a coloring brush, paints, and a 3D figure. By upgrading from the previous package design, we wanted richer colors and interesting design elements that could appeal to children.
YNL Design에서는 샌드박스 프렌즈 캐릭터인 도티, 잠뜰, 쵸쵸우, 코아, 칠각별, 수현 총 6명의 캐릭터들의 모습이 담긴 3D모형이 들어간 박스 패키지 6종과 채색가이드북 6종을 개발하였습니다. 해당 3D캐릭터 모형은 친환경 재질로서 3D프린터로 출력한 제품으로 박스패키지 안에는 사용가이드, 채색용 붓, 물감, 캐릭터 3D모형 피규어로 구성되어 있습니다. 기존의 패키지 디자인에서 업그레이드를 하며 전보다 풍성한 색채감과 어린이들에게 어필할 수 있는 재밌는 디자인 요소를 원했습니다.
THE SOLUTION
해결방안
Considering that the product targets users between 8 and 15 years of age, we used youthful-looking and characterful typeface and applied the pixel feel to the motif to highlight the characteristics of the online character. We systematized the artwork source, exclusive fonts and colors of the DODO Friends to make the best of the character of each package.
제품 타겟인 사용자는 8세 이상 15세 이하로 어린이임을 염두 해 젊고 개성이 있는 서체를 활용하였고 모티브는 픽셀의 느낌을 반영하여 온라인 캐릭터의 특징을 부각시킵니다. 도도한 친구들의 아트웍 소스와 전용 폰트, 전용 색상을 체계화하여 각 패키지마다의 개성을 살렸습니다.
